The Selective Traveler

We’re giving this place 1 star not because of the accommodations - which are beautiful, well located, and spacious - but because of the company Selective Traveller. We stayed at their place in Villefranche Sur Mer. Upon arrival, we were told we did not inform them that we had a baby with us and 2 additional guests for a short portion of our stay, even though we had the email correspondence and booking showing otherwise. As a result, we did not have a baby crib the first night for our 8 month old. They brought a baby crib the next day which was not clean. In addition, they charged us an additional 30 euros on top of the 35 euros we paid at the original booking. Our host Maryse was unpleasant during our check in and made it feel like that we were putting her out of her way by being there. On check out, we were assessed damages for not deep cleaning the entire apartment - even though a cleaning fee was associated with our booking. This is not the experience we expected for 700 euro a night. We did all the dishes and, although the space was not spotless on our departure, we certainly took the same care with this place as many others we’ve stayed at without issue. I would not recommend this company. UPDATE IN RESPONSE TO THE CLAIM WE DID NOT INITIALLY PAY FOR A BABY BED. Here is our initial confirmation in the image attached. Be careful because this company may try to double charge you like we were. We were required to pay another 30 euro on top of this after they told us we didn’t inform them we had a baby with us.

Never in my 9 years of using airbnb have I ever experienced such a nightmare. This company runs hundreds if not thousands of properties. They mislead in their listings and promise discounts if you complain to keep you in the apartment…and then they utilize loop holes to scam people out of money. Ultimately if you want a horrible experience and a ruined vacation…this company is perfect.

This apartment was absolutely lovely! It was situated in a perfect location, a 10 minute walk to the Beach and La Croisette, and a 2 minute walk from local shops and markets. The space was very large and open with very good sized bedrooms (x 3) and a large open kitchen/lounge that opened up onto a large terrace. Our host Vanessa was brilliant as was the other lady that came with her to check us in. Can't wait to stay there again!

We have stayed in Paris this New Year. The service was excellent. We were proposed to use their transfer and it was good fast. Our host Nato was very kind and helpful. Thank you for great experience.

We stayed in Bordeaux, in one of BNBKEYS properties, everything was awesome, except for one thing! The only downside stopping me from giving 5 stars is that on the website I was offered two options to choose from for late entry, one free of charge, and one for extra 30 euros. I chose the free one, and was waiting to get the code, but later I realized that the main door of the building cannot be opened without having key, so I had to pay that 30 euros anyways. PS. After following up for the problem that came up, I can say that the customer service: ZERO!!
