What a terrible way of working... communication that I don't understand. Down-payment, insurance/deposits and all kind a payment needed to be done through working methods that are complex. Maybe for the French it works. But for me, as a non-native, their methods are not workable. In the end I decided to cancel when the started to ask for additional payments. Although it was clear I would not get back the money that I already paid. For me, the risk of getting a failed holiday seemed to big.
A big thank you to Majordome Prive. We selected them for support in arranging and managing our apartment after we found on their webpage that they have many years of experience in the short-term rental business. Majordome proposed various scenarios and adjusted them according to our wishes. We wanted to update our apartment. In addition to handling the interior decorations and selecting and purchasing additional furniture we had requested, they also proposed arranging utilities such as internet, etc. They were responsive, flexible, and kept us updated on progress without swamping us with information. Since we had no prior experience with giving an apartment for short-term rent, we were also grateful for their guidance on administrative steps. We could not have managed all this without Majordome. Majordome Prive’s professional support was reassuring and truly appreciated.
Excellent home for 7-9 people in the heart of Alpe d’Huez. We stayed here for 3 days during the Tomorrowland winter festival and it was perfectly located about 200 meters from the festival site. Communication from the host was clear and the instructions were easy to follow.
The service provided was subpar from beginning to end. I was not able to see it first hand prior to arriving because I was coming from another country and asked for a video tour to ensure it was in good condition. Their video tour conveniently left out every single issues and they disclosed none of them. I would not suggest this property management company to anyone, renter or host. I am only noting items which were there when I arrived and still problems when I left 6 months later. The list of substantial damage is: 1) One of the french doors to the balcony has a handle/ lock that was broken which meant that the door open up to the 3rd floor balcony without adequate safety measures. This was not only dangerous for me, and bad for heating/ cooling purposes but left my 4lb dog at a constant risk of falling off the balcony. 2) All 3 sets of floor to cieling door windows had broken panes of glass which made me hesitant to even open them for fear they would shatter. 3) The flusher on the the toilet didn't work properly (which I admit I was informed about, but in 6 months they didn't try to repair it so it got 10x worse). 4) The vent hood of the stove was broken, which would have been fine if I could open the doors or windows (there were no windows) and therefore there was not proper ventilation. 5) The property was ABSOLUTELY disgusting when I arrived. I had to spend the first 2 days cleaning the fridge, cabinets and never used a single dish, pot or pan in the property because they were unusable. I was even polite enough to leave behind the $500+ in throw pillows, dishes, tupperware, Brita pitcher and pots/pans so that the next potential tenant was left with the horrible stuff they provided me. 6) The bed felt like what you see in a prison movie. About 3" mattress and was on top of cardboard. 7) The tile/ grout/ plaster throughout the property was falling apart. 8) The internet went out 2-3 times a week for hours on end. 9) They were unresponsive to emails, and impossible to reach via phone. In one of their responses they use other tenants/ renters not returning keys as an excuse for not responding to an email nor sending a repairman for over 2 weeks, who was only needed to look at a sink drainage issue that got progressively worse and worse until I had to do my dishes in the bathroom sink. The only positive - the bathtub was very large and comfortable, once I thoroughly cleaned it. As an owner or renter, I would advise looking at another option.
I never been in contact with SCAM company like this. NEVER ask them to take care of your flat for rent. They don’t do anything well except take commissions. Absolutely useless and the owner is arrogant and completely dishonest. For her is normal to damage the flat and it’s never her fault. Unacceptable to pay a services that she is not able to offer and find ridiculous excuses every single time when something broken or lost. And charge for cleaning never done and welcome guest in dirty flat without shame. MUST AVOID
